Open Sessions
Join us for an uninstructed, open session for artists who want to draw or paint from life—without having to enroll in a monthly class.
Types of classes
All Open Session tickets are non-refundable and must be purchase in advance. In other words, you must purchase your session ticket from the Registration Office on the day of the session you plan to attend. Please arrive at least ten minutes before the session is scheduled to begin to allow for adequate time to purchase your ticket. If you have not been to the League before, please create your free League account here.
Open Sketch Sessions
These drop-in Open Sketch Sessions feature live models and provide artists the opportunity to draw from life alongside fellow artists. Supplies are not provided but are available for sale at the League's Art Supply Store.
Special Friday
Special Friday is your opportunity to sample a League monthly class. Your $15 drop-in ticket permits you to attend one session of a Friday drawing or painting class. This is a great way for part-time students to spend more time in the studio (without opting for full-time enrollment), and gives new students the chance to try a class before enrolling. Please note—instructors will not be present in these sessions.
Sunday Open Painting Session
The Sunday Open Painting Session is just like our Open Sketch, but designed for painters. Join your fellow artists and paint from a live model. Supplies are not provided but are available for sale at the League's Art Supply Store. In Sunday Painting, the model holds one long pose for the entire session.
