Below is a list of important dates in the Art Students League's Academic Calendar, including observed holidays when our building is closed, and the beginning and end this year's sessions.

The League will close at 5PM on Saturday, August 22, at the end of the Summer Session. The building will remain closed for two weeks to allow for routine cleaning and maintenance. During this period, students WILL NOT have access to studios or lockers to provide a clear and safe environment formaintenance staff and contractors.
The Registration and Administrative Office will be closed during the break. For online registration, please visit the Art Students League website.
Sunday, August 23 – Monday, September 7

Any items found in unrented lockers will be removed, and their contents will be discarded.
Students registered for in-studio classes in September, as well as Members in good standing with a current, paid Area 2-member locker, do not need to empty their lockers.
STUDENTS NOT REGISTERING FOR SEPTEMBER:
Please empty the contents of your locker no later than 5:00 PM on August 22 and process your locker withdrawal by one of the following:
• In person with a clerk in the Main Office

All belongings must be removed from studios and hallways.
Please remove belongings at the end of your class to avoid disrupting ongoing classes.
PAINTING, DRAWING, MIXED MEDIA:
Clear out all materials, tools, and personal items from studios and hallways no later than 5PM on Saturday, August 22.
PRINTMAKING:
All materials, tools, and personal items must be removed from the studios. Flat files must also be cleared out unless you are registered for the September session of this class. To retain use of a flat file, you must provide proof of registration (your registration ticket).
Flat files are assigned to registered students at the start of the session by the class monitor.
ANY ITEMS LEFT IN RACKS OR ON TOP OF LOCKERS IN LEAGUE STUDIOS OR HALLWAYS WILL BE PERMANENTLY REMOVED FROM LEAGUE PREMISES.
Sculpture stands are the property of the Art Students League. Students must remove padlocks and clear all materials, tools, and personal effects, returning the stand to its original condition.
Stands will be assigned at the start of the session by the monitor.
CLAY/CASTING:
The studios may not to be used as a storage facility. Students must remove all sculptures from the clay and casting studios by 5PM, Saturday, August 22.
KILN FIRING:
Ensure all work is completely dried, ready to fire, and placed on the appropriate shelving with attached paperwork by Wednesday, August 12.
STONE/WOOD:
Students registered for September classes may leave one piece of stone or wood with a September 2026 registration ticket attached.
Tickets may be printed by the office upon request.
METAL WELDING, CERAMIC, WAX SCULPTURE:
We strongly recommend taking all work home, as the League is not responsible for items left in the cubbies or around the studio.
If special accommodations are needed, please discuss them with your instructor/monitor. Administration and the facilities director must be informed.
For ceramic kiln firing, please speak directly with your instructor.
