Below is a list of important dates in the Art Students League's Academic Calendar, including observed holidays when our building is closed, and the beginning and end this year's sessions.

The League will close at 5PM on Saturday, August 16, at the end of the Summer Session. The building will remain closed for two weeks to allow for routine cleaning and maintenance.
During this period, students WILL NOT have access to studios or lockers to provide a clear and safe environment for maintenance staff and contractors.
The Registration Office will be open weekdays only 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM:

- Mon, August 25 – Fri, August 29

The Phyllis Harriman Mason Gallery, Art Supply Store, and Café Atelier are closed throughout the Clean Out and will reopen Tuesday, September 2.
Items found in unrented or unpaid lockers will be emptied and discarded.
Students not registering for September must empty their lockers no later than 5PM on Sat, August 16 and process their withdrawal in person or by calling 212-247-4510 ext. 6.
Lockers in arrears as of May 31, 2025, will be emptied and deposit fees will not be refunded.
Students with current/paid lockers continuing in September or located in Area 2 do not need to clear out their locker.
All belongings must be removed from studios and hallways.
To minimize disruptions, please clean out items at the end of your class.
PAINTING, DRAWING, MIXED MEDIA:
Remove all materials, tools, and personal items by 5PM on Sat, August 16.
PRINTMAKING:
Students not continuing in the same instructed class for September must clear their flat files by 5PM on Sat, August 16. Students continuing with the same instructor do not need to clear their flat file unless the class schedule has changed.
CLAY/CASTING:
Remove all sculptures from, in, and around studios by 5PM on Sat, August 16.
These studios cannot be used for storage.
STONE/WOOD:
Students registered for September may leave one piece of stone or wood with a September 2025 registration ticket attached. Request the ticket from the office.
METAL WELDING, CERAMIC, WAX SCULPTURE:
It is strongly recommended that students take home all work, tools, and supplies.
The League is not responsible for items left in or around the studios.
For exceptions, speak with your instructor and the facility director.
STANDS:
All stands must be cleared of materials, padlocks, tools, and personal effects and returned to original condition.
Stands will be reassigned during the first week of class by monitors.
KILN FIRING:
All work must be completely dried, ready for firing, and placed on the designated shelves with attached paperwork by Fri, June 8. For ceramic kiln firing, consult your instructor.
ANY ITEMS LEFT in racks, on top of lockers, in hallways, or in unpaid unrented locker will be permanently removed from League premises.
