Below is a list of important dates in the Art Students League's Academic Calendar, including observed holidays when our building is closed, and the beginning and end this year's sessions.

The League will be closed August 18–September 2 for routine cleaning and maintenance.
During this time, students WILL NOT have access to studios or lockers so that the maintenance crew and contractors have a clear, safe environment in which to work.
The main office will be open with limited hours; the Phyllis Harriman Mason Gallery, Art Supply Store, and Café Atelier will be closed.
Students will not have access to studios or lockers until September 3.
All belongings must be removed from studios and hallways.
Students must remove personal belongings, including drawing pads/books, boards, paintings, canvas rolls, palettes, and works-in-progress from the storage racks and from tops of lockers both inside and outside of studio areas.
Printmaking: Flat files are assigned to each class; you must be registered for the class in September to maintain a flat file.
Items should be placed in current/paid rented locker or taken home by 5PM on Saturday, August 17 even if you are registered for fall classes.
ANY ITEMS LEFT IN RACKS OR ON TOP OF LOCKERS IN LEAGUE STUDIOS OR HALLWAYS WILL BE PERMANENTLY REMOVED FROM LEAGUE PREMISES.
Students who are not registered for a fall class must empty the contents of their locker and process the locker withdrawal in-person, or over the phone (212-247-4510 ext. 6) during office hours.
Only items stored in current/paid lockers may be left at the League. All other items will be discarded.
Items found in an unrented locker will be emptied and discarded.
Exceptions will only be made for students registered for September classes with a paid locker and members in good standing who have a paid locker in basement Area 2.
Lockers in Arrears (unpaid) as of May 31, 2024, will be emptied.
CLAY SCULPTURE:
Students must remove all sculptures from the clay and casting studios by 5PM, Saturday, August 17.
Clay stands must be cleared of all materials, padlocks, tools, and personal effects and returned to its original condition. (Stands will be assigned to registered students the first week of class by monitors).
KILN FIRING:
Students should have work ready to fire and placed on the appropriate shelving with kiln paperwork no later than Monday, August 12.
STONE/WOOD SCULPTURE:
Only students registered for a class in the fall may leave 1 stone or 1 wood sculpture in an assigned area in the Stone/Wood Studio with your September 2024 registration ticket attached to the artwork. The office will print the ticket upon request.
METAL WELDING, CERAMIC, WAX SCULPTURE:
Please speak with your instructor about any exceptions to the Clean Out rules. It is highly recommended that any work in progress is taken home or stored in your paid locker.
