Natsuki Takauji

About

Natsuki Takauji exhibited her first large-scale public sculpture as part of the 2013-14 Works in Public/Model to Monument program. Since, she has had installations of her large-scale sculpture displayed across the United States and beyond: Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Rye Town Park, Kinosaito Arts Center, and currently at JFK Airport, Terminal 4, NY, and Oeno Gallery Sculpture Garden, Ontario, Canada. Her work explores displacement, gender, and healing through both personal expressions and communal participation.Her recent exhibits are at Kapow Gallery, Japan Society, Tokyo Metropolitan Museum and Kameyama Art Triennale in Japan, and World Art Expo Seoul in Korea.Her work was featured in the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2018. She has curated the exhibitions for the Sculptors Alliance and Lithuanian Alliance of America, NY. Her work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. Ms. Takauji received a B.A. in Creative Writing at Waseda University, Japan and also studied painting and sculpture at the Art Students League. She is a recipient of Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, Artist in Residence at Materials for the Arts, Ankhlave Garden Project Fellowship, Artport Residency, Queens Art Fund Grant, Nessa Cohen Grant, and more.
