51st Street and Park Avenue

Seeds of the League is participating in the New York City Department of Transportation’s Summer Streets program! Seeds of the League instructors will be at our booth on 51st Street and Park Avenue on Saturdays, August 5, 12, and 19, giving demonstrations and lessons on beginner watercolor techniques. Children and adults are invited to create their own original paintings or work from our fun templates!

NYC DOT’s Summer Streets opens nearly 20 miles of car-free streets to pedestrians, cyclists, and joggers throughout the five boroughs. In Manhattan, the route runs along Brooklyn Bridge to West 125 Street. Attendees will be able to enjoy free fitness classes, cultural performances, and family-friendly activities along the route and at rest stops.

Seeds of the League is the Art Students League of New York’s community youth program. Seeds partners with public schools and social service organizations across New York City to provide arts programming where it would otherwise not be accessible.

Seeds also provides full, need-based scholarships to artists ages 8 and up to study with renowned instructors at the Art Students League, allowing students from across the city into the League’s legendary studios. Since its founding, Seeds of the League has given out more than 650 scholarships. Thousands more students have been reached though the program and encouraged to pursue careers in the arts. Seeds students have gone on to earn over $1,000,000 in college scholarships and built careers in a diversity of creative fields: they are now architects, teachers, illustrators, animators and more.
