End of Summer Session Clean Out

‍LAST DAY OF SUMMER CLASSES: Saturday, August 19

LIMITED ACCESS TO THE BUILDING: Sunday, August 20 to Monday, September 4

At the end of the Summer Session, the League's studios will be closed for two weeks of routine cleaning and maintenance. The main office and Art Supply Store will be open with limited hours. The Phyllis Harriman Mason Gallery and Café  will be closed.

Students will not have access to studios or lockers until September 5.

‍

All belongings must be removed from the studios.

‍

This includes personal belongings, supplies, materials, artworks, tools, and any other items you do not want thrown away. Students must clear all their belongings from the studios and storage racks, as well as anything stored on the tops of lockers or elsewhere in the building.

LOCKERS

Lockers not in arrears are not emptied during the Clean Out. 

Students who are not registered for a class in September 2023 must empty the contents of their locker and process the locker withdrawal in-person, or over the phone (212-247-4510 ext. 6) by August 19, 5PM.

Only items stored in current/paid lockers may be left at the League. All other items will be thrown away.

Exceptions will only be made for students registered for September classes with a paid locker and members in good standing who have a paid locker in basement Area 2.

SCULPTURE STUDENTS

CLAY SCULPTURE:

Students must remove all sculptures from the clay and casting studios by 5PM, Saturday, August 19.  Clay stands must be cleared of all materials, padlocks, all materials, tools, and personal effects and returned to their original condition.

KILN FIRING:

Students should have work ready to fire and placed on the appropriate shelving with kiln paperwork by Tuesday, August 15. 

STONE/WOOD SCULPTURE:

Students registered for a class in September 2023 may leave 1 stone or 1 wood sculpture in an assigned area in the Stone/Wood Studio with your September 2023 registration ticket attached to the artwork. The office will print the ticket upon request.

METAL WELDING, CERAMIC, WAX SCULPTURE:

Please speak with your instructor about any exceptions to the Clean Out rules. It is highly recommended that any work in progress is taken home or stored in your paid locker.

Closed Saturdays and Sundays (August 26–27, September 2–3)

Closed Labor Day, Monday, September 4.
