Charles Courtney Curran, Untitled, 1897, oil on canvas, 15 x 18.25 in. Permanent Collection, Art Students League of New York.

Join us for a landmark conversation with NYU professor and author Mosette Broderick; North Shore historian and author, Paul J. Mateyunas; and Former U.S. Congressman and the great grandson of Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, John LeBoutillier.

The trio will provide a glimpse into the Gilded Age and its influence on American art, architecture, and society. Take a look at the New York studios and town and country homes of some of the artists and patrons of the era — so many of which intersect with the history of the League — including Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney’s studio in Old Westbury, Long Island.

This evening kicks off the League’s 2025 season of public programs in honor of our 150th anniversary.
