Do you have a favorite passage from Robert Henri's The Art Spirit? Share it with us.

Come to the gallery for a free talk with Peter Osborne, director of the Robert Henri Museum and Art Gallery, who will be joining us from Henri’s childhood home in Cozad, Nebraska. Learn intimate details about the larger-than-life artist who taught at the Art Students League in the early 1900s, forming the Ashcan School movement of New York painters.

For the second half of the talk, we will leave the mic open for you to share your favorite passages.

Sketching at McSorley’s, 1:30 PM

15 E 7th Street

Afterward, head to McSorley’s Ale House—where Henri and his friend John Sloan famously sketched—to draw inside New York City’s oldest Irish pub with League instructor John Varriano. McSorley’s is cash only, but has an ATM outside on the sidewalk. 21+ event.
