Carving History with Shijia Chen

League Member and sculptor Shijia Chen has helped to restore the sculptural facades of most of New York’s most iconic buildings—from the Tweed Courthouse, to the Metropolitan Museum. His success stems from a rigorous attention to detail, a commitment to ingenuity, and a deep respect for the artworks and artists he whose work he interacts with. These practices emulate Chen’s own approach to artmaking, which he has honed at the League.
